Annoying hesitation 996tt
Annoying hesitation 996tt
Annoying hesitation, like a quick dead spot around 1500-2000rpm only on a light throttle application. No vacuum leaks, no boost leaks, no codes. Cleaned the TB also.
I noticed it goes away when I do the throttle plate adaptation, works fine a minute or so. Then comes again.
Should I try new throttle body? Any advice?
Cheers.

It's weird it goes away after the TB adaptation, it must be an electrical issue. I replaced the accelerator potentiometer as well, no joy.
Maybe I just try another TB. Anyone tried to swap TB trying to solve this?

your the 3rd person describing the same issue... put the stock tune back in and see if it goes away... don't get on boost... sometimes mafless and big injectors do not go well together. Do you have a 74 mm IPD plenum?

irs most likely a combo of the ipd / Tb and mafless tuning. Most likely it doesn't matter who tunes it as long as it's mafless it's the problem. If you have a maf file I would try that

My car is running the MAF. It did it before i installed the COBB OTS and with all the custom Sambo tunes i have. My hiccup I like to call it, happens way before there is any boost. It happens in the same throttle pedal position of about 1/16 regardless of RPM. Every time do something like load a new map,. E-Gas reset or disconnect the battery it almost completely goes away then slowly creeps back.
I am also having this issue but did a pressure test and found that my Venturi tube has a small leak in it. When I was doing the test another hose broke free at 20psi. I ended up lowering the motor a bit and got to the Venturi with a bit of super glue to just hold it (there's a hairline crack in it). Took out the y pipe and zip tied a bunch of fittings. Got it all back together and no hesitation. It has since come back but I was boosting to 1.0 getting on the freeway. I'm just waiting for the new part to install to be 100 percent certain.
If you haven't checked boost leaks it would be a good idea but I'm sure most have already done that. Pick below is the Venturi tube to the right of the diverters.

You can try your stage 2 OTS map and plug the MAF back in. The only issue with that is the MAF will help mask and clean up the issue you likely have. Still We have MAFless cars from 500 to huge hp no issues. I think something is off and changing that venturi valve will be a good start u. I am here as usual for you.
Then if anyone has my set up try to log it happening and feel free to send over. There are too many cars that run fine to blame the Cobb MAFless but we can work together to figure it out

No prob. I'm not blaming I'm gonna replace that faulty part. I'm almost sure that's it cause when the glue was holding the hesitation went away. I just wish I could get my hands on one asap.
Thanks my friend.
