LED Daytime Running Lights for 996TT

I am installing a set of LED DRL (Philips DayLightGuide) into the radiator inlet areas on my OEM 996TT bumper. It appears that the lights themselves will be a great fit. I am discovering, however, what most everyone else already knows... that there is no way to run the cables with the bumper on the car. So I am removing the bumper. Has anyone else been through this and can recommend a good direct path to follow to get the cables up into the battery area? I didn't want to drill holes in the radiator boxes but I'm running out of options. Will it be obvious with the bumper off? Yes, I need to clean the radiators anyway...

I took off the bumper cover to do this job and I remember there was a grommet behind the bumper reinforcement that I used to get the wires into the trunk area. Never drilled any hole.... I also remember taking the power from the wiper nozzle heater.....

Make sure you leave yourself enough extra wire that you can put the bumper cover on the ground without having to disconnect the wires. After installing the lights you will still have occasion to remove the bumper and you won't want to fiddle with the wires every time.

Did ever thought about using your fog lights as your DRL? I've been using this on mine. Not sure if you tried. If you switch your fog to the first left position and lightly pull the switch out this will activate your fog only.

I would love love love it if someone could make some DRLs in the wavy strip at the bottom of the light module (I know it's solid, but the shape and position are perfect!)

That's what I would do. anything stuck in the grille looks out of place IMO.

It looks better when DRLs are designed and integrated to the car as it meant to be. Not as an after thought.

... that is the challenge in coming up with a solution that is simple, integrated and easily mistaken for OEM. Keep the ideas coming. When the right one comes along, everyone will say: "ah - yes - that's it!".
