Private garage rental in Los Angeles area?

Hey all,

I just took a job in Downtown Los Angeles and am moving to a loft in the city. I'm not too keen on keeping my turbo in the city and was curious if anyone in Los Angeles knows of trustworthy places where you can rent a private covered carport or garage?

Thanks!

Doug

When I moved to Texas I needed a secure, covered area for my turbo. I ended up renting a storage unit from one of the many public storage locations. I could lock up the car and the storage area was secure with camera coverage. Only drawback was no electricity for a battery maintainer.

I never thought of trying storage units, didn't even know they accepted cars. Thanks for the tip, I'll look into that!

Meant to mention also that if you find a place make sure to get an end unit so you can get in and out easily.

Certain storage places have specialized garage units for cars, and not just another garage unit for boxes. Some of which can even have humidity control, even though thats not that big of an issue here in California.

I just used one for two months while doing a mini garage remodel. Remember to negotiate

if you tell them your storing a car they may require you empty any fuel and oil out of it for insurance reasons

If that's the case just move on to the next one. I've never had a public storage unit make the request...but who knows.
