Gbox cooler from Patrick Motorsport install guide help
Gbox cooler from Patrick Motorsport install guide help
The product has been delivered without install manual or anything like that and cant figure out how to install it as it meant to be from the producer, after some emails they send install guide from older air cooled 911 with the oil radiator to be mounted in front of the car and saying no 996/997 install guide available for my kit. But hoses are too short for that install they indicated, guess the right way is under the car.
Product is 996 307 TOC PMS. - Transmission Gearbox Oil Cooler System - 996 - 997 Trans
Attached the wrong install guide
Anybody having the same kit?

Thanks already took a look into it. If will have to improvise will make it work, but paid for a well built custom kit for our cars and now not having too many options.
Pretty bad support from patrick motorsports even they have answered back right away, the info received was useless...additionaly paid customs and transport till Europe, cant even say returning the product will make me happy..

Essentially you can make your own. You really just need a cooler, lines, fittings and a pump. I think you'll have to drill the trans to. Then it's just a matter of mounting the cooler. I do believe it's best with a scoop under/flat along the trans.
The Patrick Kit is not really the way to go for our cars as, contrary to what they say, it's not really made for a 996, it's more of a generic kit. We looked at it years ago when setting up the trans oil cooler on my car. It's much easier (and cheaper) to buy the exact parts you need to make a kit to your exact needs. Depending on the layout you decide on, you will need various AN fittings, braided hose, a Setrab air to liquid cooler, a filter, and a pump. I highly recommend a Mocal 17311 gear driven pump as it has high flow capacity, quiet operation, and high reliability. Don't use a Tilton pump that Patrick supplies. The Tilton pumps are diaphragm pump and they they are LOUD, loud enough to be heard with the engine running an open exhaust! I did a thread a while back on my cooler set up for those looking for details.
For those interested, I will actually have the complete trans cooler set up removed from my car in the next 2-3 months or so and put up for sale. It will include everything for a plug and play set up. I'm swapping in a transmission with the OEM GT2 liquid to liquid cooler in place.

My feedback regarding Patrick Motorsport
After almost 1 year, they weren't able to provide me instructions install manual, and obviously the kit was sent WRONG by their mistake, the hoses were too short to fit 996/997 and they specified on their website the kit is specific for our cars.
I have paid 775$ + 185$ shipping
customs+VAT another 300$
shipping back to them - 200$
TOTAL - about 1500$
I was expecting back at least 775$ or maybe 775+185 shipping as that was their fault, not mine... I had to pay additional money because of their fault ( customs, local taxes, shipping back)
They have refunded me 585$..... saying that their policy written on the invoice states 25% off the price, they didnt cover the initial shipping etc and even more they even didnt refund myh paypal, or paid back by GIFT, they paid me back like regular transaction and lost again 3%, ended with 550$ !!!!!!!
thats great business and customer support PAtrick Motorsports, thank you and never again

I know how you feel. The 25% restocking fee should only apply when "you" decide you don't want the part - not when they incorrectly send you something that doesn't work.
I would expect you can claim back your VAT though since you didn't keep the item.
Tanks for the heads-up, I wouldn't deal with them either.

Yes VAT and custom fees can be returned, but the procedure to take back money from the state is long and difficult here
If they told me before, guess could make more money to sell it locally..
So, one year later my problem isnt fixed and I lost about 1000$ and a lot of effort, but I am somehow used to happen in the tuning world, this is a world appart from the real business one, a world were even product warranty is "motorsport" for most of the products
and just a few really stay behind their products
Had a really good relation in this journey of building my car with Markski - 911tuning, great guy to deal with
