Day @ the drags with my GT700, PT 2 (video)

Went to the drags again today with my GT700. I was joined by Todd, John, Mike and the crew from EVOMS.

My fastest run was 11.25 @ 129. When I was making this run, I hit the rev limiter twice (in 3rd and 4th) that's why the trapspeed is so low, I lost at least 3 or 4 tenths and 5 or 6mph on this run because of it. The car was trapping consistently in the mid 130's with the highest trap speed being 135mph+. Here are a couple of my timeslips:

Here's the video from the day

BTW, EVOMS supercharged 997 (non S) ran 11.85!!!!

I'm only going off of what the owner of the car told me...(650hp at the flywheel)

Nice. I'm surprised that Sl65 was able to get such good 60' times. Would figure with almost 1,000 ft.-lbs. of tq. it would be near impossible to launch. Must have had a great driver/incredible tires.

Im still waiting for the tens
on a serious note, Ive gone many times with my tt on different set ups... and I still believe that its super hard to get in the 10s with a TT. its almost impossible running 1.2 bars... If I recall.. sharky ran a 10.9 on 22 psi.. thats almost 1.5 bars. just curious.. what does the gt800 boost?

One thing most people forget is the 996tt doesn't come stock with a LSD. I believe Todd's latest car had a LSD while I don't believe sharkster's does. This single part will make a difference in your times.

WOW. That Benz is amazing. 10.85! I'm sure that cars catches many unsuspecting drivers off guard.

Sweet... I'm assuming your car is a six speed? There is definately a 10 in there somewhere.

It is, I agree 100% I only got about 5 runs in because they were having a bracket racing event at the track. The run I got the 11.25 on , I hit the rev limiter twice (in 3rd and 4th) I think that was my 10sec run. I saw several cars at the track (including the SL65, run 10's with a much lower trapspeed) I'm going to experiment with some different launch techniques in the near future. The only thing holding me back from 10's is the launch.

Goodluck as well, the car could definitely do it if you get the launch/driving down pat and make a few changes... SL65's are INSANE, wow.. I'll still say it, my friend took me for a ride in a renntech'd sl65 and by far fastest thing ive been in yet
