Limited Slip Diff's?

I have been reading that some guys (CJV & EVOMS) have been installing these LSD's, where can we get the parts from and in your thoughts is it worth it?

TIA

Take a look at www.quaife.co.uk and then under products you have
ATB Differentials. Price for a 996 Turbo is around 1400 dollar + shipping,
tax and installation.

There are two types of LSD's that are proven. The one Porsche makes for their Cup cars and the one they make for their RSR. I believe Guard Transmissions has recently started with their own unit. I believe you will also find that Paul Guard works very closely with BMC. These units are gear baised and each come in two models (40/60 and 60/80?) The difference between the Cup and the RSR is the RSR is a billet unit while L believe the Cup is cast or forged. The Cup unit can be bought for about 2K while the RSR unit is about 5K.

In my opinion the best transmission/LSD (I'm not saying the only one) man is Brian Copan. He does a much of the transmission work for many of the different Porsche racing teams. His company's name is BMC. They are located in Westchester Ohio. He can be reached at 513-779-3302. When you call you will probably be speaking with his wife Pam as Brian is extemely busy and on the different race circuts most of the time.

As "for being worth it" well yes and no. Depends on what you are looking for. The cost of performance becomes more expensive as you go up the ladder.

I would think if you are going to do this you might as well change the gearing as well?
