Thanks for the info. I do have a bit of experience, but not on anything like the Miller track (unless virtual reality Asetto Corsa counts). I will get my car ready and sign up for a HPDE 1 event.

 

It would be great if you came down. I know there are always a few Boise guys that come down. I have a garage reserved for the weekend and you are welcome to use it. They are very roomy. Park (Z06801) will take good care of you. If you've done a few DEs you won't have any issues. The track is not very difficult and is very safe with large runoffs everywhere. Park can correct me but I think they run a lower and upper skill group so you can be placed where you are comfortable. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Thanks for the garage offer and all. This sounds like a lot of fun. I guess for now I will get to work on resetting my cams and see where I'm at in a few weeks. I definitely will meet up with everyone down there sooner or later.

 

Must be a Porsche thing. I've had a sumitomo tire do the same thing. Run 888s on vettes all the time with zero issue.

 

They're junk just like yokahomas. I've run both back when I raced mustangs and had failures on both. Once I ponied up the dollars for Hoosiers, I never had another problem (tire related).

 

What mustangs did you race?

 

SCCA American Sedan. Chassis was an '85. Old pict attached after a paint job.

 

Ah cool I drove the Discount tire #22 500r in the Mustang Challenge for a season at Miller and we had to stay on a 235, I think those mustangs would have crushed the 888r specially in that size. The spec tire for us was the BF Goodrich R1 which actually did quite well
