Mistake?

Mistake?
Having extra time on my hands i started a search for 997tt's for sale. Well one thing led to another...after a few phone calls, some pretty detailed texts, pictures, and a video...I am kicking my 04 996tt to the curb and replacing with a stock 08 997.1tt.
Kind of feel guilty about what started as a simple internet search turned out to this "break up" with my old girl. She has an upgraded exhaust, stage 1 tune, CAI, BBS wheels, and PSS10 Coilovers.
Both are black/black and manual transmissions. Unfortunately, the mod bug has already hit and I called Sam at ByDesign and have ordered a Kline exhaust and tune package already...I don't even have the car yet.
Never have spoken with Sam before and was very pleased with his current sale going on right now. Received a very nice discount and free delivery. I also bought a tune package for my new Macan Turbo...might not tell the wife about that one...lol
So...beware of the power of the internet...what seemed like an innocent search has ended a great relationship...Time will tell if it was a mistake.

a great trade. congrats. only used porsche turbo i would give this one up for, is the 997.1. a new one? is a different story. sam is the man for kline and lots of other discretionary ( not ) guilty part pleasures.
gl with the "unmolested" 997.1.

Thanks...Mezger engine was definitely a plus for me in the 997.1...This time i will keep all of the stock parts...made the mistake of not keeping some of the parts i replaced on the 996tt.

Curious, how long did you own the 996 TT? How many miles are on it?
GL with your 997 TT. I've had my 996 8 years and it would be somewhat hard to part with it. It's always been a great car, and I like the raw visceral feel compared to the newer stuff and the more modern feel compared to the 993 and older. Goldilocks syndrome?

I have owned it for a little over 3 years and it currently has just over 50k miles.
Hmmm....too hot, too cold, or just right? Perhaps a little of that going on at the moment. The 997tt seems a little sexier to me...the nice thing is that i wont take a huge hit in value on the 996tt.
I just sold a 2014 BMW M Sport X5...the depreciation on that sucked. The depreciation on the 996tt is negligible in comparison.

I can see where you have not had your 6 long enough to be an old family pal, like me. I had a '99 Carrera Cab for 7 years before my TT, so that's 15 years with the 996 beasts, plus we've had a Boxster since '01.
If you have the cash and the desire, why not?
