Oil Questions

Hey guys,
I am in need of oil for my TOD trip, and of course my local autozone is out of 0W40...now some people I know down here are running 15W50....is it ok for me to put this in or should I not mix oil??
Thanks,
Evan

Evan you wont hurt the car but it is not ideal if your engine is used to 0w40 - Dont mix the 2 oils thought - if you have some 0w40 in the car now and can only get 15w50 and know you will be in need dump out all the 0w40 and do an oil srvice with the 15w50 - my Turbo in 01 actually came form porsche with 15w50 so I cant see how it would cuase any harm

I would dump the 0W40 and change it all to the oil you are able to get.

The viscosities between the two oils are so close that it will not make any difference if you have to top it off with a qt. or so...Just make sure they are the same brand of oil and both are synthetic...

Evan...

Did you check the dealers in your area...Champion... They should stock it since it's the 0w-40 is the new standard for all new US bound Porsches. Although it might be more than autozone!
