First 996 TT Driving Experience

So my all time favorite cars are Toyota Supras and 996 TT Porsches. Well I have had my supra for a year and absolutely love it, but thats another story. This week I got a call from an out of state car buddy who was buying a porsche in my area and asked if I could help him out with the sale. Check it out, drop off the checks, and pick up the car. To make a long story short I got to pick up 02 996 TT with 11k on the odo, tubi exhaust, techart wheels, and GT3 seats.

As far as performance the car only had a tubi exhaust but none the less it is still a blast to drive. Slower then my supra yes, but unbelievable quality and rides like dream. I only had an issue with the GT3 Seats as at 5'11" and 235 I am not the smallest guy so getting in and out was a bit of chore but well worth it. The is a great car all around and although I wasn't able to get into it, the car moves very nicely.

My buddy who went with my to pick up the car, a fellow supra owner, said he didn't think it was worth $80K+ plus because it wasn't that fast, however I beg to differ and its now on the goal list for the next two years. Its crazy to see the car waiting outside just begging to drive it yet, it will just have to wait for its new owner. I know he will really enjoy it.

Okay just had to contribute my first porshe related post.

Well congrats man, 996tt's are extremely fast even stock if you look at the numbers, but supra's are on a whole diff. level especially when modded. Im a power freak and my car at stg. 2 is pretty satisfying everytime i get in, i do want ALOT more but i could live with it at this point. Congrats again and enjoy it

I don't get it, you and the other Supra owners are comparing their modded Supras to this 911 Turbo. Stock Supras are slow by 911 Turbo standards.

I do realize you now see the light as to why 911 Turbos are special, and of course don't bring up the price disparity, else we'd just drive modded Civics and Mustangs.

Yes I am comparing a stock car to a somewhat modded supra so that may not be a just comparison. However my supra has simple boltons no upgraded turbo or fuel upgrades. Mods include Front Mount, Cam Gears,3" DP, MP, and Exhaust, Intake, Boost Controller, and Clutch so were not talking about a whole lot here, just comparing two cars.

I actually have been in one other porsche which is a highly modedd 94 3.6 Flat nose that on street tires runs, well faster than 10.5 in the 1/4 , so while i know this car wasn't going to be anything like that it was still stuck in the back of my mind.

However I am still a fan and would like to own one in the very near future, but with a cravings for more mods and hp.
