I have another issue I'm not sure how to figure out. On the back straight of the glen, which is flat, but fast, braking from 130ish to maybe 60? while I downshift to 3rd, I get a little bit of gear grind getting the car into 3rd. I have the rpms matched. I do the same shift on the front straight and a few other places in the boot, with no problems. I don't think its a technique thing, since I do the same thing in all the corners. Any ideas why I would grind pushing into gear in only that spot?

 

3rd gear is the weak point on these cars. maybe time to look into trans.

 

trans/car has 18k miles. I hope not.
