Best price on 18's custom wheels for 15" Brakes

Ok, after this shootout I have to get back on the track. My beast now with the EVO 4GT kit is just AWESOME. I have been driving it now for 1 week and am hooked.

I am ordering a new clutch and most likely the PSS9's. But now I need to get some 18" wheels to fit over my Big Brembo Brake 15" and 8 piston set up.

I am looking to save as much money as I can here as I have spent way too much already.

I heard BBS, Fiske, and Kinesis make custom sets.

Thanks for the help guys !

I just got off the phone with brembo regarding your situation and there arent any 18" wheels that will fit the 15" 8-piston brake kit. Brembo also has the 15" 4-piston brakes that you can use some 18" custom wheels

Fred,

I know it's late but I would not have recommended the big brembo's if cost was at all a factor. As you now know, you get way better improvement in other areas first and only may need to do big brakes if increased cooling fails first.

Secondly, you may want to wait and get the new Michelins when they become available around March for 19" setups.

Trust me if I knew this was going to be a problem I would have never bought them from ByDesign. Nothing against ByDesign but it would have been nice for them to tell me that I would be screwed like this.

Sorry ByDesign but I am royally ****ed now !

Sorry to vent but I am just losing money left and right now. If I knew first hand that I wouldn't be able to put 18's on the kit I bought, I would have never bought the Big Brembo Kit.

I guess I learned the hard way.

Problem is who the hell now will want to buy my big brakes if they 18's don't fit over them? So you see why I am pissed.

Heya Fred,

I do have an idea for you. Give me a call later but it goes a little something like this. Sell the 19s and just get some 18s like mine that fit fine over any brakes out there. Give me some time this week to work out the slight issues with Brembo/Kinesis. I am putting a call into them today.

I figure if you sold your 19s you'd be ok with getting the 18s and not loose money.

I wish people would stop posting that the 15" 8 pistons will NOT fit under 18" wheels.... Lies Lies Lies!!!!! There are tons of wheels out there that will fit, just not ALL 18" wheels.

Fred, if you don't like the looks of the 18" that will work, why not just use them as your track wheels and put the 19" back on for the streets. If you want, call me on the BBS and I'll get you a good deal with the right offset. You can come by any time you want and we can trial fit some differnt offsets, then order that exact offset for you, I'm we can get them for under a $1000 each. You can also go down to Kinesis and talk to Alan and he will do the same for you, I know him very well so if you want I can call him ahead of time. If you want to come over to my shop, I'm in the Long Beach area just let me know.

Maybe some of the reason By Design didn't say anything is because when they first put them on Matt's car they freaked because the 18's didn't work...so I went up and bolted some 18" on and they all saw it... They new then the right ones could fit.

I just spoke to Allen at Kenises and he said he's done all kinds of fitments on 996 TT up to 12". They've done several set ups for 15" rotors including Alex's car for the shoot out. Check out this site, http://www.kinesismotorsport.com/centerlock.htm to see a cup car with their wheels and 15" rotors.
