Electrical connector at fuel pump

Hi,

I’ve been troubleshooting a “failure indicator” problem with the help of this forum. I checked and replaced the relevant small blade fuses in the front driver’s knee hole and also the fuel pump relay. I also checked and replaced (all were fine but I had it open so why not) the extremely hard to get to set of 50amp and 80amp fuses underneath the glovebox on the passenger side.

I next checked and replaced the DME and the other 3 similar relays for start lock back behind the rear seats.

I would next like to check for proper voltage at the fuel pump itself. Does anyone know what the voltage across these 4 wires should read? The 2 in the middle (small purple and small purple/brown) read 5v, while the 2 large ones on the outside (brown and green/white) always read near zero. This is true with the key off, key on, and also key off + fuel pump relay jumpered, and key on + fuel pump relay jumpered. I jumpered pins 30 and 87, and the voltage across those pins inside the car reads 12v.

About 7 months ago I replaced the fuel pump because it had died. I did not check voltage at that time, so I don’t know what the proper reference voltage should be, but I was expecting 12v for the 2 large wires, not zero.

Any and all help would be appreciated at this point.
