Overboost on gauge

My friend has a "stock" car, I just took for a spin. I can tell you it feels stock by power levels, but when I hold full throttle the boost on the dash goes up to 1.6bar!!! No error codes. Wondering if there is a giant boost leak, but not sure how it could read that high. If it was really boosting that much, the car would feel faster, and probably blow up. He has been at the track all day yesterday, tells me it feels "normal" to him.

**** yes their is a big boost leak, your lucky you don't blow the motor. You better buy a leak tester and not drive that car like that until its fixed.

That's what I was thinking. If it was my car I would have it apart already. Best I can do is point my buddy in the right direction.

Check with a real gauge. The OEM is just a simulation and not accurate at all.

A boost leak would not allow the pressure to go past `stock`. +1 on the waste gates and don`t drive on boost until you figure it out!!!
