Stuck Engine Latch Fix

I was able to fix the stuck latch today. I wedged a rubber spatula between the hood and the bumper. i hit the switch and the latch popped open. i then adjusted the hood adjustors on either side of the hood. It works like its supposed to now.

yeah people forget ( or never knew ) that the adjusters can interfere with the latch popping.

I just figured I'd try that instead of propping up the tail light to fish out the manual pull cable and it worked. I should make a You tube video and show that it took 20 seconds to fix it.

now im confused. taillight? you mean the manual cable in front? if so i re-routed mine it now lays tucked inside the seam of the headlamp enclosure passenger side. all it takes is a needle nose to fish it out as ( if ) needed.

yes, thanks. i of course know that. for whatever reason i assumed he was talking about the front since he said "i hit the switch and the latch popped open. i then adjusted the hood adjustors on either side of the hood."

and while i know where the cable is front and rear. i've never seen hood height adjusters on the rear decklid. hence my ( reasonable, given his phrasing ) confusion lol

You've never seen the adjusters on either side of the rear hood? I don't think I've ever seen a car without them.

After searching the Forums I found many people with the same problem. Now I can do an easy fix if it happens again.
