Adjustable Castor Thrust Arm Bushings
Adjustable Castor Thrust Arm Bushings
Been reading-up on these Lower Control Arm Thrust Arm Bushings, and I can't understand how the adjustable bushings stay clocked correctly while installed. If there's all this force transmitted through these bushings, how do they NOT rotate when installed in an eccentric orientation? I am flip-flopping between the adjustable and the non-adjustable bushings for my REAR LCAs. Have any of you guys had issues with them not staying where you set them? I don't track, not gonna slam the car either. I bought the Ohlins coilovers and these LCA TABs are a "while I'm in there" afterthought. I don't want to fool with the adjustable types if they'll just continually come out of alignment. Not sure if I'm worrying over nothing.
The OP is talking about something totally different... apples and oranges...

The adjustable caster bushings can not slip as they are sandwiched between the "pickle fork" of the thrust arm and then bolted with a bolt which is torqued to 118 ft.lbs. This design is used on every Porsche race car including the RSR. I would suggest the Porsche Motorsport adjustable thrust arm bushings but the Tarett ones are well designed and work well also. They are rather cheap at about $250 for the pair. Install these on the rear LCA, don't worry about the front. With that said, unless you are trying to dial in your wheel base and maximize fitment of huge tires, you do not need the adjustable bushings, the solid non adjustable ones will suffice. Additionally, unless you have a competent alignment guy that can properly clock these, the adjustable bushings can be more of a curse than a blessing. Cheers.
Out of curiosity how would I get ahold of Porsche Motorsport parts? Google search doesn't yield much, except the one email address and two 770 phone numbers... I didn't see an online catalog or anything.
I appreciate that. I think the non-adjustables are for me. Thanks for helping me confirm!
