Its much simpler than you think. Ask daddy to buy a new lip. This way it will cost you nothing.
Dave you may not think that a 17 yo should be driving a 120K plus car and it may not be something that I would let my kid do either. But having said that, and having met Evan, he is a good kid and deserves the same respect that you would want shown to you on this board... SO CHILL OUT.. Your comment is out of line.

No one is hating. Just a simple suggestion. Take it for face value.

I did not realize that the lip costs 800 bucks, maybe you should just sand it down, the glue the lip back together. This should cost under 300 bucks and your lip would be 90% back to normal.

I've seen major fiberglass damage on Corvettes and boats repaired with perfect appearing results. A body shop that works on boats and/or Corvettes should be able to fix it. It will probably get more damage in the future anyway so save your money.

Why is everyone getting so bent out of shape ? If my Dad bought me a $120k car I would surely ask him for an $800 part ? I don't think dave was so out of line - it can't hurt to just say "hey pops can I borrow $800 ? "

whats the big deal - I would surely ask my dad - ohh wait I bought my Dad his car LOL

That is not how it works in my familly....yes he bought me the car...but I fuc*ed up and I take responsability for my action and I will fix it... Yes my dad can fix it for me, but its the principle....

Epoxy and paint should do the trick, if it's not missing a chunck out of it. You could use some fibre glass cloth w/ epoxy on the inside of the lip over the crack seam for strength and it would not be visible....

There is a little chunk out of it which is kinda the problem...you can see in the 2nd pic on the bot. there is a little chunk missing...however I am not worried about that as it is not visible from above...

If you repaired it, you could fill in where the chunk is with some fill compound of some type, sand it and paint it...
