Just wanted to share the newest car to the stable. After I purchased my 996 turbo (AKA the BoostBerry) in the summer, the wife began talking about eventually buying her own 996 turbo. She had some requirements, it had to be a cabriolet, white, and a 6-speed. I did some research and found a well-sorted cabriolet that checked all the boxes. So I made the purchase and had it shipped to AK from WA. It has loads of carbon fiber interior goodies and an EVOMS GT700 kit. She loves it! She's taken it out for a few drives in the snow but it will remain in hibernation until the summer. Thank you! I agree. Cabriolets aren't really my thing but this one is gorgeous! And we are a six turbo family, the wife's DD is a 2014 MB Biturbo E63 AMG. She gets all the nice cars .
Probably not the answer you're looking for, but it depends on numerous variables. First, would shipping be done through a shipping company or a broker? I've used the same broker for shipping my vehicles without incident. Second, will the vehicle be shipped in an open or enclosed trailer? The price will vary based on your option. I would recommend enclosed, more expensive but with the added peace of mind that the vehicle will be safe from the elements. Third, where is the current location of the vehicle and where is the shipping destination? Most shipping companies charged based on mileage so I would do some research. I experienced some other obstacles such as the transfer of the vehicles from the ground transport to the water-faring shipping company since the vehicles had to travel by ship from WA to AK. Thankfully, my broker took care of that aspect of the shipping for me gratis. Good luck!
BTW, I too used to own a >500hp 1993 300zx twin-turbo that I miss dearly. I sold it to a Navy gentleman when we moved from Guam. When I move from AK in the next two years the wife said I can indulge in my 90's Japanese sports car obsession. I've been scouring the interwebs for an RX7 or a Supra. Don't tell!
HAHA!!!! I have been searching every car sight I have ever heard about for a good old RX7. I have only seen 3 and all were very expensive. The Z can be ridiculously fast and parts are at least 10X's less than Porsche parts, but the 300ZXTT is really a pain to work on. I have had the engine out 5 times. I never want to pull it out again. It's built to really go with forged Wiseco pistons, eagle rods, ACL race bearings, APR studs, cometic gaskets,rotating assembly is perfectly balanced to where its hard to even feel the engine moving with your hand on it. Billet motor mounts 96 J-spec tranny, JWT ball-bearing turbos, Huge side mount intercoolers, inland empire aluminum driveshaft, 2 Huge air intakes and both throttle body diameters increased, Dual intake Selin translator to keep both intakes metered properly, Dyno Tunned, all intercooler piping is as fat as can fit with the 3 row radiator, Flywheel, 700FT. Lbs of clamping force on the clutch. Adjustable cam pullies and all 4 cams are Jim Wolf S2 race designed. Ebach springs and 8 way adjustable shocks, Specialty Z zero back-pressure down-pipes with waste-gate pipes separated to avoid turbulence. and on and on... It just burns through the tires like crazy though. It will do a massive burnout in 3rd gear, going 40 if you dump the clutch. It is a beast. I'm really tired of working on her these days. Getting too old, but man! that's a fun car!

Your 300ZX sounds like a beast! Mine had a laundry list of upgrades as well (e.g., built motor, 1000cc injectors, downpipes, dual MAF translator, etc.). I became so well acquainted with the engine, I memorized every bolt size. Thankfully, I only had to pull the engine once. After the rebuild, it was rock solid. All it took was one drive with the next owner and he made an offer. He wanted to pick it up the night of the test drive, but I convinced him to let me detail it one last time. I had to say goodbye properly!
