Turbo upgrade recommendations for 1000whp E85 car??

Been out of the scene for a while. My car has Ski850 turbos on it now that I may sell, turbo technology evolves over the years. Just curious what is the new latest turbo and manifold choice for a 3.8 liter 1000whp e85 tiptronic street/strip car?

Looking for a fast spooling efficient turbo, 1000whp is the maximum power I ever want, so I don’t need a turbo that makes any more power than that.

I'd call Todd Knighton at Protomotive and ask him. The guys at AIM Performance would also be another good one to ask. Who is your tuner?

Made 1050 on xona 5764's running E85. I would go one turbo up tho that was really pushing those turbos.

Honestly, that’s the absolute maximum power I ever want or need, so maybe those would be just right. I’d like a decent enjoyable spool for the street.
I was just gonna have the tuner put it to 900-1000 whp on E85 due being that’s it everywhere in my city, so I don’t need anything crazy big. I know many setups like mine push WAY more power, but I just don’t need that anymore for what I want the car for anymore. This 3.8 motor has Kong’s old heads/cams that were ported even further along with larger +1 valves to make them even more efficient on the flow bench.

At this point I’m just trying to determine if it’s worth spending bunch of additional money to upgrade from my ski850’s(which seems to be a decent turbo from what I’ve read), or if a GTX3076, XR980, 5764, xona a3076 ball bearing turbo, etc would make a much improved difference in efficiency and driveability. You know, bang for the buck wise before I have it tuned soon.

Thanks for the input guys, everything helps with making a decision. Lol

I have the Xona 5756's (similar to the old XR980's?) on my 997 and they spool as quick or quicker than my old 18g's did on my 996, but they never stop pulling. I expect to make 900whp or so with meth...

I guess one of the main things I’m looking for if possible is something that will allow me to use factory type exhaust without modification.

Im told the XR1000 would be at its very limit at 1000whp. Also that the internal wastegate has trouble accurately controlling Boost at that power level. Maybe I’ll inquire about an XR1200. Lol

I have a very efficient engine, just have to keep researching the right turbo to match. Ideally something that will start boost at the lowest rpm possible for street use. But also make enough boost to make my car trap over 150mph without issue. Sounds like these are very efficient turbos!
