A3076s + stock motor. What mods do I need?

I have a chance to grab A3076s for a nice price.
What supporting mods do I need to keep the budget to a minimum at this point and have everything working? And what kind of power can I expect with this minimal setup? Not going after crazy HP numbers obviously.

Currently I have ancient hybrid k16s + exhaust + tune. Car makes a solid 508HP crank, but the turbos are peaky, they start to work only at 3700rpms and I'm seeing 1.2 bar only close to the redline :\

From what info I've managed to gather across numerous threads, I can get away with just a fuel pump + injectors (?)

Thanks!

How many miles on your engine with those upgrades 16s and tune? Depending on miles you’ll have some bearing wear without a doubt, and you don’t want to spin that.

you should just get your car retuned by marski or somebody cause that power level sounds low as hell for a FBO with hybrid 16s. For reference I made over 530whp on billet 16s from AMS a decade ago. Sounds like your tune is not good.

^ totally agree. i also have ancient 16/24's with a 1.2 tune and my numbers are significantly better than that. i can hit 1.2 from about 3500/4000 if in a low enough gear.

i would also look to tweak what you've already got as you have something left on the table. looks like. could simply be a minor vac leak.

I bought the car at 37K miles and now it's around 75K. It was tuned like this right from the beginning in year 2002 in Germany. During the 6 years that I've owned it I had it at various local shops (all specialized in 911s and autosport). There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, no boost leaks, etc. (we fixed everything). The turbos are weird and something nobody had ever seen here (the hot sides are from an audi diesel turbos or something like that, lol). I think the germans were experimenting on this car back in 2002.

With this mileage on the turbos, I want to ditch them regardless if they or the tune are good or not. Sure as hell not spending money on a tune that will hit the same limit.

I appreciate your concern guys, but I would like to stay on the topic.

You need to change the bearings and maybe even the rods. I would not run 3076s that produce way more power than you have now regardless of how they’re tuned (pulled back or All the way up).

what mods DO YOU NEED? Well bearings, injectors, new tune. You don’t want to spin a rod and that will happen if your bearings are worn and allow side to side travel, which you won’t know unless you open it up. I had some side to side and my engine has 15k on it…..likely from the AMS billet 16s, not so much from my current 3076s. You asking about these snails, I’ve had them running for 6 years easily.

you should do turbo inlet pipes. Y pipe, catless exhaust, plenum.

Those are pretty big. You'd really be getting into the built motor zone there along with fuel stuff.

A lot of us while back ran 3076s with supporting mods and they worked well..those of us who abused the cars racing no stop or at 1.5 bar ended up with rods. Those of us under 1.4 bar had no issues but pure enjoyment. Great turbos, spooled well and top end was nice
