Car is Mafless, FBO 996 TTS (RWD) with an E85 fueling set up.
Is it realistic to run an E85 tune using TIAL Alpha 3076 at say 21 psi without overstressing the rods, fecking up cams etc to aim for mid 5.5 s 60 to 130 mph on the flat with no brake boosting etc.
Car has stock engine, is MAFLESS, has RWD with GT2 alignment, stock axles and gearing etc. I only have ID1000s so may need to go to the new 1400 cc injectors talked about in a few threads.
I have been going back and forth on Fadi's thread but thought I would get a better expansion here and also before I go to Tim's and bust his chops.
I know Spoolbus hit 700 whp or so at 1.5 bar with a water/meth and 93 octane set up with the stock motor and the 3076.

Rods would be my concern. I run 21.5 boost on my 997.1TT
I would be concerned with your fuel supply with the 996 pump and line config. The 1000cc injectors should be able to handle this type of demand.
You could force a lot of air into the chamber but, if your short term fuel trim doesn't keep up, you'll end up with a few issues.
Mafless would concern me with this situation. With no safeguard's, what fuse is left to blow? If your only shooting for straight times, lose some more vehicle or personal weight.

Have you not considered running race gas to achieve your power goals? You could keep your fuel system, just change the turbos and update your tune maybe? Or are you set on E85? I've considered both ways myself, but will be cheaper for me on E85 as the occasional DD during the summer.
Rods are cheap and should be considered a MUST over 750hp imo, I wouldnt take the risk to run without, not if but when...it's a matter of time. Having E85 will generate a lot of torque if you tune for best performance

Sorry, I currently run E85 on my K24s... have a Wallbro 400 E85 intank FP and 6an and 8an lines etc.
We use Eurodyne to tune the the ECU so can manage torque to lower levels.
What if I used a 93 octane tune with some tweaking to allow me to use E30 at 1.5 bar or less (say 3 gallons E85, 13 gallons 93 octane)

a3076 would me my choice going back cuz they flow a 1000hp!
personally I wouldn't be afraid for your rods up to 1.4 bar well tuned (should reach your goal at that stage on e85)!and you know with eurodyne you can manage the torque under 1.5bar or 22psi (n75 max reading)then if you feel to roll the dice get an ebc and pray...
build your engine later and crank up the boost to 2bar and no need to change your turbo again...

We will almost certainly use an EBC

engine is ready! but still waiting for the transmision...all 6 rods where bent but no damage elsewhere...
so yeah 2.1bar spike in the worst torque zone(4500rpm) then turbo die to 1.8 bar up top 100% DC ! nuts

The reason I am going the larger turbos on a mid range whp is because all the rod bend stories seem to be on A28s at the 800 bhp-800 crank torque level or so on the 996 TT

the 1,2 bar you see at 2500 rpm is actually .2 bar cuz atmospheric is already 1 bar
so 2.5 bar=1.5bar around 4000 rpm is where the n75 limit (ecu goes blind) ,so full boost is around 4200-4300 rpm...
the n75 is a 2.5bar sensor `1 bar vacuum/atmospheric pressure` and 1.5positif
with ebc the n75 sensor is override with its own sensor ,after that eurodyne does not control boost anymore

Mike, I was looking at your 5.4 second datalog you posted last year and the boost looks like it went from 1.2 bars at 2000 rpm on your A2868 jumped to instant 1.5 bars then 1.9 bars above 2500 rpm....... check the old file and see if that is the case as I suspect if it ramped a bit slower to max boost then the rod wrenching insta-torque at 1.1Gs will be alleviated... the Eurodyne boost manager could ramp that a bit slower
