100ll Avgas?
100ll Avgas?
Anyone have experience with this stuff. I run 110 leaded race gas periodically w/good results. I was told 100LL avgas was good as well. My car is running ****ty now.

if u run leaded gas u will fowl ur O2 sensors. I run 100 unleaded for the race program I have.

higher the octane the more you can compress it without detonating it. It's kind of reverse to put it simply. So in a sense it is LESS volatile than lower octane gas. Also putting AVGAS in modern cars is not very good. In older cars as in the 60's with big engines designed for leaded gas not a problem. But modern engine sensors ie. cats, O2 , and a host of air inlets/outlets and check valves will will be contaminated. AVGAS contains antiicing agents and PRIST which is an additive which inhibits microb/bacterial growth.
