18" or 19"

I'm not quite sure, but this wheel decision is becoming alot more difficult then I had expected. Now that I have decided upon the color I am faced with picking a size. I am trying to decide between 18" and 19". The main concern I have is with the degradation of ride quality, especially in Chicago. Did any of you notice a difference in ride quality/comfort when you went to 19"? Do you think the look was worth it? Any pics of 18" Techarts? I really appreciate any input.

TIA.....

TIA

I will have those number for you today. Go with the 19". Is your vehicle lowered? If not 19" is the way to go.

Virtually any time you reduce the side of the sidewall by going to a bigger wheel, the ride will be compromised. I, as well, am contemplating 19" black Techarts for my GT2, but haven't researched it enough yet. Most everyone seems to like Conti's. Your thoughts?

19s all the way...FYInext gen Porsche 911 will have 19s...Also many cars today like the 745 etc. have a 19" option.
If you track a lot some prefer 18s as there is more race rubber choice. However, I think it is only a matter of time before many of the more popular race tires become availalbe in 19s. Also, if you wanna get the big 8-pod brembos in the future you better have 19s (OK I know 2 members have custom 18 Fikses that clear the 8-pods but these are the exception rather than the rule)

My car is not lowered, and I do not plan on tracking my car that often. My main concern is that I use this car as a daily driver and the roads in Chicago are pretty rough. I just need to get an idea of how much ride quality loss I can expect....between barely noticable and a mobile headache...

Thanks Again!

I would recommend going for the 19s as well. The compromise in ride is not that great and the looks are improved 5 fold with 19s. IMHO, it is pointless to go 18s if you already have them with the stock wheels.

There was a silver turbo with 19 inch Techarts at the Jacksonville gathering, and it looked considerably better than my silver GT2's wheels. Perhaps Evan can send you a picture of it. He seems to have some spare time on his hands
