Well guys, I thought I had made up my mind on my wheels, until I went to By Design this weekend. I saw both the HRE 19" 840R and the 843R's (Oak's TT) on the rack and can't decide between them. If I go with the 840 I want the centers black. If I go with the 843's, I'll go with the brushed centers. The TT cab (sil/blk) will be here in a month so I have to decide. Please feel free to pass on any advise. By the way, both Matt and Allan were great to work with. Sorry, I was unable to post the pics so here is the link. www.hrewheels.com/Wheels/
996turbo,
I prefer the 840 brushed alum, not black with a super high polished 4" lip (I dont think HRE does 5" lips). I have a 5" rear lip and it looks dope. But it all depends on what look you are going for and who do you want to impress. . . I still say 840's but either way you cant go wrong. If you do, just be like me and have two sets of *****in wheels. Switch them out every 6 months.
Good luck,
Ron

It would be nice if HRE added "Porsche" to one of the list of cars in their showroom. Then we could see what the wheels will look like on the car.
I like the 840s. If you like black, why not black 843s also?

ESK, I agree. I wish they had more Porsches in their gallery. I saw a set of 543's...essentially an 843 with exposed hardware....painted black and it did'nt work for me. I think since the spokes are not very wide, they seemed to have gotten lost in black.

996turbo,
Have you decided yet? Best thing to do is go with your gut instinct or your first choice. As for the JIC coilovers, so for I like them alot. After one week, had them adjusted for rear height and softened the ride a bit. So far so good. The ride is of course still stiffer than stock but very forgiving. I'm happy so far. Did I tell you they also have adjustments for camber. . . Sometimes they make a little noise but not much at all. Let us know what you decided on the wheels.
