The Car That Will Destroy VRAlex’s 996TT
As I mentioned I am a Toyota dealer. That said I do get to see and have some insights that are not know by the general public. Toyota has tons of cash. Within the next few years they will be the #1 automaker in the world. Its not about making money on this car although I'm sure they don't wantto lose either. Anyway...I was in the Dealer meeting in Chigago and was told by a development guy its 100%. I also know someone in accesiories development who told me they already have body kits and engine mods for it. Toyota is on a roll...the new Truck in Nov will kick everyone's butt in the full size world...Anyway, listen I love my TT and my 512TR, Toyota can never match the feel of these great cars but believe me they will FLY....

The MKIV Supra sales were a disaster for one reason only, Toyota failed miserably in marketing the vehicle. NOWHERE did Toyota point out the potential the car had (and the 1K+ capable 2JZ in stock form was no accident, they knew the motor was that tough). They also never raced the car in the US (huge mistake in my opinion).
I'm not sure if they will come out with a new Supra (although I keep hearing rumors of it from people within Toyota that they will) but seeing the inmense popularity of the MKIV Supra I'm sure has made Toyota realize that an MKV Supra will sell if it has a good performance/dollar ratio.
"Unfortunately" JohnnyBeatles is right that Toyota has and makes more $$$$ than everyone else in the auto industry, thus they do NOT need an "image" car like Chrysler needs the Viper, GM needs the Vette, etc. So I won't be shocked if they don't come out with a new Supra, and that would be a shame as they have the resources and expertise to build the best sports car dollar for dollar (much like the MKIV Supra) money can buy.

What else can you tell us about the new models.
What make them decide to bring back the Supras? The previous MKIV sales were disastrous due to the fact that noone was willing to pay $45K for a Toyota back then. Do you think they will have better edge in 2008 over their competitors who already have their 500hp on the market such as Z06, 997TT, Viper and Mustang Shelby.

It's a little known fact that some of Titan's motors are built and dynoed at Duttweiler's

They easily lead the game in volume, and as far as I am concerned no other Supra tuner has the relationship with Toyota and TRD that they do (except possibly Bullish, but their shop is mainly just a front for the race team they operate). There are plenty of great small shops out there as well such as Virtual Works, SP, SPE, Boost Logic, etc, all of which have their niche in the marketplace.

That being said don't expect to see them in a Supra any time soon as the engine he had the most development in for Titan is the Landcruiser "Big Block Inline 6" that should be out in the Outlaw races in the future making quite a bit of power. Brad (the main man behind the 2JZ program) and the gang have dyno'd their motors while they where on the west coast leg last year, but I can't recall any recent 2JZ's he has built for the race cars.

I actually had the pleasure of watching Brad assemble the last few 2JZ at Titan's shop ,they're a work of art. The Landcruise motor that is sitting in the crate takes extreme to a whole nother level though, can't wait for someone to try and put one into a Supra
Let me know when it's done and we can work on lining up
Then I can get back the $400 you still owe me for your Virtual Works Intake Manifold! I tried to reach you alex for 6 months to collect and never got a call back or payment.
If you want to resolve this e-mail me at rdwoon@aol.com

I will happily line up for double or nothing but I'd rather get my $400 first
The money Alex owes me is owed to WOTM my company. But if he wanted to line up for money I can put up personal money instead. It must be a controlled enviornment such as the track with no chance of going to jail or getting your car impounded. I'm not willing to risk anything by racing on the street. It's not worth it. We are both in Vegas all the time so LVMS will be the perfect spot. 1500rwhp and twin 76GTS's is quite a bit more power than I make. If Alex wants to do it on Radials to keep it a "street" car deal I can do that too.

That sounds pretty straight up and exciting. How about streets of Mexico. In any case, do make it a public event for all of us to see.
BTW, what's your QS time from 60-130mph on a GPS device ie AX22.
