Turbo Timer

I think a few people have a Apex Turbo timer. How does that work? Do you lock your car and go away and the engine shuts down at a set time. How does that impact the alarm and things? Can some of the tuners chime in with their opinions on tubo timers/ thanks in advance, Ritchie

The trick is how to make your alarm arm while your car is still running. If you can bypass that issue, then a turbo timer is golden.

With my Supra, I would have to wait to arm the alarm after the turbo timer shut-off.

My 3000GT VR-4 was the same way. At least you can get a wiring harness for most Japanese cars. For the 996TT, forget that. You will be soldering that bad-boy into the wires leading into/out of the ECU.

Ask Ari about how the turbo timers work with alarms, he had to go carless for a while because of it.

When I had my turbo s2000 I had the clifford alarm remote start, with this I was able to leave the car on and remove my key from the ignition and lock the car with arming the alarm....BUT I would have to wait the 2 minutes and then with pushing my button on the clifford remote the car would shut off, neat option but you still got to wait next to the car which suks.

I had a timer on my subaru which had a viper alarm. All they did was put a 2-3min before arming. So I would push the button on the remote remove the key but the car kept running. Get out of the car lock the doors walk away. Car would shut off the a little later alram would arm. I always manually locked my doors. I did want to let the car unlocked for those 2-3 minutes

apexi turbo timer

I have it in my car. I bought it with the car. And I HATE IT! cant lock the doors till its done. I feel like its causing electrical issues as well sparatically like setting my alarm off. One night I turned the turbo timer off and I was woken twice in th emiddle of the ngith with the alarm gogn off. Thats th eonyl thing I changed from any other night. I turned it back on and it ent away. haha I say stay away im about to rip mine out.

I'd imagine they are a bit pointless in a 6sp car since you would probably need to wait for the turbo timer to finish before shutting the car off and putting it into gear. You may as well just manually wait 30 secs and then shut the car off yourself.
