O/T - Anyone considering the VW GTI R32

I think its released in January. Surprisingly, from the January Motortrend article, a tuner has 3 packages available for the R32 for tuning.

Stage II is incredible - 0 to 60 in 3.2 sec, 1/4 mi in 11.4 seconds, top speed of 202mph, on 19.5psi boost via twin KKK K04 turbos/intercoolers, and other mods......all on pump gas and awd. Supposedly very streetable, with a calmer idle than stock.

The package will set you back 25K, (50 to 55K including the car) - not bad, considering you need to spend 100K more for a tuned porsche turbo to equal that performance.

Checkout HPA's website - http://www.hpamotorsports.com

HPA Stage 2+ engines will not be happy on 91 octane. Canada (i think) still gets 94 octane. I drove a HPA Corrado in Ohio with 400hp and was astonished with how much pull the car had on the highway. From a standstil the car would turn into a smoke show if you put your foot in it. They do great work with fit and finish.

I have a buddy that sold one of his old carrera's to buy the R32. I heard that they are going to be comming out with a turbo model in about a year. I saw on over in Holland about two months ago. Little car with slick interior. I heard or TT VR6 motors with well over 500 hp.

(bump)

Shank - just ready your profile - no relation to Ravi or Anoushka? Dude - what's your 'job' that you can afford such an AWESOME garage like that? You seem to be all of like 22 from your profile!

I see you play violin...we have something in common - I'm a cellist.

Shank, slight hi-jack.

Do you know of any other MB forums?

MBworld went slightly downhill IMO, I believe you were a member there. Also vwvortex.com forums are the best vw forums that I know of (if you didn't know already).
