Tracking the 996tt questions
I know there are a few threads on this, and not much in the track section, but...
I'm did my first run on the new www.MillerMotorsportsPark.com East track in the 996tt at a PCA DE. Stock tires/suspension/chip...Stock.
I race karts, I like racing. Driving the TT around the track was amazing. I've signed up for laps in a week.
What's your question already?
I'm looking at getting in on the group buy for the Giac Stage 1, with stock/race, etc...there's 101 at the track.
Also, looking at M Pilot Sport Cups. I need to drive to the track on my race tires this year. 55 miles each way.
I think I need different pads, the Pagid's seem to be the best. What version will get me around on the street without squeeling? And be good on the track. Do they swap out easy (can I do it with my tire change at home?)?
I am thinking of just an x73 suspension. I don't think I have anyone in Utah that is qualified to do the PSS9 install. Plus, I like driving this thing every other day on the streets.
Thanks in advance. I'll go search now that I have my thoughts down.

Sport Cups are fine to drive to the track.....change your pressure for that run.......and ideally avoid a rain drive (but even that's do-able w/care).
nothing wrong w/ stock pads.......but I've been using P/orange for yrs......never for street though......can change all wheels in about 20 minutes.....tie back your pad sensor wires, their a waste of time.
Lots of suspension options.......research.....my personal opin is that eventually you'll want something that's height adjustable so you have control for tuning (height, rake, corner balance)........next some adjustable anti-sways (I use H&R with adjustable drop links) they can give you aditional control over of tuning her for the track.....dial out most-all of understeer.
Have fun........be careful......keep in mind that many people recomend a full season on street rubber with min-mods before adding here-there. This car is incredible, but also isolates you from what really happening out there.

If not, can you elaborate?
Thanks
No warning light.
They are unpluged & tied back.......if you are in there often enough, no need for idiot light..........actually, if I recall correctly the pad warning circut is not tripped when contact is broken but rather completed (which happens when sensor wears through).....but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Street pads should be ok until you start moving up in the run groups, pagid oranges are great, but squeel on the street, it's easy enough to swap them. I've driven sport cups to/from LI to Watkin's Glen, about 240mi each way, no problem.
X73 should be fine, no adjusting needed. Have fun!

Thanks Chris, KJ, and Gregg! For those of you who have not done a Drivers Ed event with the PCA, look in to it, be safe. It's designed so you wave people by so you don't hold up traffic, and you get waved by when you're faster. You're not racing...just learning the limits of driver and car.
I race 100+mph karts, and the PCA DE was a lot of fun with a very good group of people. Just like here. :-)

You cant use your brake sensors with p-orange pads.
Chris, how many miles and track events are you getting on your Cup tires driving to the track. I think I am going to start driving to Sebring for the DE's which is 100 miles both ways, how many event days would you expect with a 200 mile round trip drive? TIA
