Why do the cars feel like they drive like night and day when compared to one another??? I have driven both and I felt the VW did'nt come close in handling characteristics. We all know from a perfomance standpoint(engine), the VW does not compare....

There have been some complaints to the tire choice of Vee Dub. Seems that they didn't want to use the same options on tires and that has caused some differences. There were some upgrades, but I don't believe I have seen any other the T-regs on the floor with the tire and wheel combo that is close to Porsches. For me, I didn't want to wait 3 months to have one built and Porsche didn't want to deal on the thirty they had on the lot. So I took what was on the Vee Dub lot close to what I was looking for. I can cure the tire and wheel combo pretty easy. In fact I am looking to build a supercharger kit before to long. My wife is not thrilled. See, I bought it...but its hers

In regards to the wheels and tires? If so, yes. We have three dealers in town and there was such a limited base to choose from on the V8s. The V6s were all over the place, but I was afriad I couldn't tow a tin can with one. They were all VERY loaded. But I needed the V8 to tow. I have ben floored with its ablity to tow. Makes my old Jeep look like a joke.

Kevin,
I guess the service aspect depends on where you are at...Our P dealer here SUCKS. The Vee-dub service has blown away anything my P dealer has ever done. The Vee-Dub dealer even gives my wife a T-Reg loaner when changing the oil. The Porsche dealer says they will RENT you a car. Even the buying experience was far superior to the arrogance of the P dealer. Heck, there is an issue with the SUVs that when putting the the hitch in the tail lights break, mine did. I called the dealer and told them and they could care less the work was done by me...They replaced them...Flip side to Porsche....After a week they still don't have my dash in my TT. I have had to source parts and even bring them in as well as go up there to s how them how to do the job. Even with your 10K discount compared to the loaded T-reg there still is no comparison....This is why the SUV of the

Oh sorry, yes I am sure it does. Our dealer hands down is terrible. Worst yet, they really don't car. The Vee Dub guys were truly unbelievable. I am still floored. It would be nice to roll up to the dealer in a TT and feel like just maybe the car cost more than a Chevy. They goo the tires, but that's it.

The way I see it, if you are going to buy a fully loaded Cayenne S, you might as well spring the extra cash and buy a Cayenne Turbo, as it includes most of the options on the "S" in its standard configuration.

What's $15K when you are talking cars that are 80 or 90 grand?

For strict off roading capability... my hat still goes off to the ugly MB G-Wagen and its 3 electronically locking differentials. I don't care what any of you say, a Cayenne will not climb a rock as well as a G500 can.

Please tell me you are kidding...

Guess what guys, I am going to trade in my Turbo for a Toyota Camry... geez.

X5 chassis tends to rattle over bumps, it's not built as well as the Cayenne or G-Wagen.

Dont get me wrong I love my TT but I just never have time to drive it. I know the old X5 didn't have good chassis but how about the 2004? Also considering the Toureg V8.

Porsche didn't want to deal on the thirty they had on the lot.
How true that is. On another note, I've actually considered downgrading from my '02 4.6is to an '04 T-Reg.

I'm actually pretty interested in the V10 Diesel Toureg coming here in Feb/Mar. Now that's a great vehicle. You can tow a loaded trailer or a nice boat behind that very easily. And maybe even plow your neighborhood out!

With all due respect, I guess I don't understand the appeal of the Infiniti FX or X5. They aren't SUVs in the sense that they don't have a lot of credible SUV type performance (off-road, towing capacity, etc.) And yet they aren't cars in the sense that they don't handle as well as $40-$50k sport/luxury sedans. And they don't seem to have as much cargo space as an A6 Avant or E-class wagon.

I guess I just don't get it.

Speaking of the E-class wagon, there's another interesting option. E500 wagon with air suspension and 4-matic and lots of cargo room and luxury. And excellent service (at least around here). And an E500 in sport mode will outhandle most SUVs. Maybe even the Cayenne. It's hard to beat a low CG (we 911 owners should know that!)

This would be an easy decison for me... Buying a turbo... Go for the Cayenne.. Anything less, buy a toureg....

Although I'm with Shank... FX over anything execpt the TURBO if you don't plan on going off road...

But if you aren't going off road and you aren't towing a trailer, what's the point of an SUV? Why not get an S6 Avant or E500 wagon or something like that?

I'm curious, because I see all sorts of FXs out there and I still don't understand.
