Ice on Intercooler for Drag & Dyno?

So I'm brainstorming......

Anything wrong with the idea of dumping a bunch of ice into the into the intercooler ducts for drag strip and dyno?

Seems like it's a ready made container AND the water drips behind the rear tires!

Jaycla: I'm going to LAPD tomorrow at 3:00P. They have an AWD dyno, but it's not safe for the turbo. RWD it is.

Anyone want to take dibs on what a GIAC (91 octane) Program, Remus exhaust, Evo intake X50 will run in RWD?

Ist not a good idea to use crank numbers since we all use different % figures.... I use 12.5%.. RWD.... and 17% for AWD.... I seen others use 22 % and as low as 15% for AWD... so let make it clear and use
RW numbers... and PEAK HP numbers to be exact... casue we are all looking for a peak to make us feel better that out car is XXX HP LOL.
I say 470 rw HP ??? Im guessing.

I'm more concrned about reading the A/F ratios. Never dynoed a car. It should be fun.

That sounds kinda low. Isn't this package supposed to be good for 560 crank HP? I guess 560 x .85 = 476

Any opinions on icing the intercoolers?

Not that it matters really....

I'll try and post the graph tomorrow!

I know a few that went to LAPD for dyno and got around the whp figures posted but they where 16/24 hybrids, as far as the ice if the fans are not pointed at the intercoolers then the ice might help but if they are pointed I think it would hurt power since the ice will block the fan air from going through the intercoolers.

I am sure the ice will help at the track, just keep in mind the track attendants take a dim view of any car leaking ANYTHING in the staging lanes. Good luck.

redjeeper is infamous around these parts
You have to use dry ice to prevent it from leaking, it will just evaporate.
