something quite interesting that i wanted to share..

In the June 2006 issue of Keith Martin's "Sports Car Market" magazine, (a magazine that i recommend to all who hang out on this site), Michael Sheehan (a Ferrari expert) wrote a very interesting piece about supercar collectors.. The part that i found most interesting was, and i quote him, "As an example of how user friendly the latest supercars have become, one of my American clients has an F40, an F50 an Enzo, and anything else he wants. He bought a new M-B SLR McLaren. After driving the 626-hp SLR and the 478-hp F40 back to back, he shipped the F40 to his local dealer because he felt the turbos were not kicking in. The dealer said the F40 was working well, he was just spoiled by the SLR"
.
take whatever you want from that but we live in a great and prosperous time.. the fact that we can purchase high performance cars and motorcycles of this nature is a gift.. and they are getting better everyday..... i hope this trend continues..
.
we should be thankful..

But there's no need to bash the F40.
A guy at pistonheads.com (Master H, you can check this out) has owned it and even the McLaren F1, Enzo and Zonda...
Still he says about the F40 that it's the most exciting car he has ever owned...

Maybe he just needs to invest in some bigger turbos....

i am not trying to bash anyone, F40 or otherwise... matter of fact, during the Gumball, i purposely followed the F50 for miles and miles, until the sound that i loved some much started to annoy me.. ( i guess that's why they were wearing headsets).. i live in a town that has a Ferrari dealership, and i like nothing more than to visit the store and admire the beauty of Ferrari...
.
The F40 has great impact both visually and performance wise...
.
i took these Gumball Ferrari pics because i appreciate them..
.
My point is that this is 2006, cars evolve (as do humans) and i am happy that we can enjoy them.. all of them.. .. who would have thought that MB would offer so many 600hp automobiles...

Enjoy it now, because in less than 5 years gas prices will roll back high performance cars through new legislation and higher insurance.

Here come the late 70s all over again.....

JR, that's really weird how the wheel was captured in that photo. My first thought was that maybe he took off right as the photo was taken, but you'd think it would show in teh rest of the photo as well.

Maybe it needs to be balanced

Shark01,
.
i am shocked by the horsepower wars among manufacturers... but i love it..
.
first to suffer will be the those who can't afford to fill up their SUV, (which is already happening) which unfortunately affects GM, as these were a profit center, then the middle class with large SUV's and sooner or later, these types of cars (high performance) will not be available..
.
maybe i am wrong, but drive em while you got em..
.
.
.
.

chrism3,
.
yes, it is strange... the pic was taken abroad at speed...
.
i sent it to a couple of friend's... , one of whom is a genius.. i'll let him figure it out..
.
but it is cool.. that's why i shared it..

I'm not sure if the 70s were worse or the late nineties..... it seemed that 100% of affordable sports cars (including my love it / hate it Rx7) disapeared and never resurfaced in their full glory. I'm so glad I could step up to the M3 in that void and now the TT.
