Anyone know of an open allocation spot for Bentley Continental GT?

My mom just ordered one for Oct delivery. It will be an 05 model. I was hoping i could find her one sooner. We will not pay over MSRP.

Thanks!

JayM is infamous around these parts
Are you talking about Oct. of 05 (ie, 22 months) or of 04? If she just got on the list and was promised Oct. of 04, she is way ahead of the first allocation here in Silicon Valley, where they are talking mid-05 if you go on this list now. And I didn't think they were taking orders before the launch in February....? $5K deposits to go on the list, yes, but orders (ie, choosing colors, options, etc......?)

Oct 04 for a 2005 model. She has not had to put in her final order yet. I guess we'll just be happy with that. She's trading in the SL55 for it.

my understanding is that bentley is pushing out a substantial quantity of cars en masse initially. they're going to ramp production and hold them in port until they can dump something like 20 cars on each dealership all at once (some large, surprising number). after that, from what i've heard, they intend to produce like a banshee. although people are being quoted long lead-times, it sure sounds like it won't be that long a wait. i have a friend on the list and he's been grilling them for data like this, which has been interesting to hear. so you might just want to not rush into anything moving your allocation. my two drachmas.

doody.
