Axel hopping solution ?
Ever since i bought my car the axel hopping has been a pain in the ***.
I changed to Öhlins suspension from the beginning 2-way 6/10 springs
still a lot of axel hopping changed to 8/12 springs still axel hopping. Has done a lot of work to the suspension but the axel hopping is always there. This year i changed to 3-way Öhlins and did more work to the suspension ( raised the subframe 10 mm ) and started with 12/18 springs and no axel hopping. The car feels very solid not to hard. Changed one more time to 15/23 springs
and the car still feels very good on the street not to hard. Öhlins has helped
me with the new suspension and i was afraid that the springs would be to hard but nope. I think there has been a lot of discussion that to hard springs
gives a hard ride but i think it`s more the shocks that gives you the hard
feeling not the springs. I think that you have to go with minimum 18/kg in the
rear to eliminate the axel hopping. I installed Öhlins 2-way 12/18 on a customer car without any other modification to the suspension and the same
on this car no axel hopping, you can launch the car realy hard 4-5000 rpm
and no axel what so ever. I think going with harder springs and off course a good shock with a little softer setting is the way to go. Just wanted to share my experience with you guys.

On harsh bumps you will feel the stiffer springs but, as long as you are on smooth roads and using a high quality shock like a Ohlins or a JRZ or a Moton etc, you'll be able to control much stiffer springs like that. I don't think I would advise that with a damper like a JIC.
Some of the hopping you're experiencing is from all the geometry changes you get when the suspension compresses and the stiffer springs do prevent that, on the other hand if you change the suspension parts so you don't have such radical changes this will help as well...... if you can handle the stiffer springs though.... that is a much cheaper way
