In shock...474hp at the dyno
usually dyno numbers tell you how much more hp your mods give you...do you have a base line (no mods)...otherwise this number (your current hp)can be very subjective when compared to other turbos.
OK to clarify...those are stock K16 turbos (not X50). I had the GIAC programming, but flashed back to stock. Like I said...I'm in shock. I can not believe the numbers, but three pulls on the dyno. I can't wait to see what happens after the mods. My mechanic was also surprised...he said it was running lean so it should have done better than that...maybe I got a stock turbo on steroids. BTW the reason I did it was to see how much the mods gave me...not for some other comparison.

If the car is already running lean there is NO more room for a chip to help you.
Lean = Power
Rich = Safe
You are running in danger territory if you are lean.
BUT, the above statements make no sense. An exhaust and intake should make your car Rich. Then a tuner then goes in and makes it lean again. This is how power is made.
Maybe your mechanic got rich and lean confused?

474 rwhp is obo 530+ hp to the crank... how is that possible when stage 4 with k24s duno 570 crank???
Im sure some of the tuners can chime in .

If your car already dyno'd at 474HP before the mods, then you are going to be very disappointed when you put them on and get the same numbers
I have the k16/24's, GIAC II, intake plenum, port and polished headers, bla bla bla, and my car dyno'd at 475 on 100 octane.

. I don't think There will be any way I get the same numbers...but I would love to know what I would get with the GIAC program. Oh well I'll never know!

I don't know who your tuner is, so this is not going against anyone, but the K16s will give you around 450-460 FWHP (Flywheel) maximum on the 996TT regardless of how good your programming is, they just cannot flow more.
If your car is running lean you should be seeing normally more torque on the dyno not less, it was already mentioned above I believe.
The stock ECU will adjust for the intake and exhaust mods, you should not be running lean.
All of the above indicates to me that your tuner was not having a good day, or you maybe misunderstood what he told you.
In any case his dyno needs serious calibration/maintenance.
Don't get carried away by these anomalies, I would do my due diligence before using this dyno for further assessment of mods, it will obvoiusly mislead you.
