Hey Guys, I am interested in installing a BOV on my tt. What unit can I use and is there a DIY? I want to get a loud unit.

Just curious, if you have diverter valves what other advantage will it give other thans ound, and is that what your looking to gain from it?!

Yea i figured, it would be interesting to hear a turbo with a BOV, although i prob. wouldnt do it!

 

don't they kick off a cel in a "diverter valve" type system as the electronics sense the escaping air?

 

Unless the BOV is re-routing air back into your intake (and thus eliminating the "cool" whoosh sound), your car will run poorly and will probably trigger CELs. External venting BOVs are not made for MAF based cars, like the 996TT...

 

Yes, it has to be sent back into the stream or you will get a secondary air injection fault.
