Removing the rear bumper
Removing the rear bumper
I know there was a thread on how to remove the rear bumper, but now I cant find it. Does anybody have a link to the thread? Or how about the steps in removing it?
Thanks in advance

Open the trunk and remove the lights and the metal strip. Take off the wheels and remove the torque screws that hold the wheel well liner to the bumper. Under the bumper there is a series of torque screws, take them out.
Finally, open the flap on the bumperrettes and loosen the hex bolts inside them. Done

Just kidding. Good tips One other thing you will need to remove the bumperetts. there is a 6 or 8 MM hex bolt if you come in through the bottom. Loosen that a bit and the should be able to be pulled off.

Once you separate the bumper from the car, don't go too far with the bumper without disconnecting the plug that supplies power to the License tag light. It is also a good idea to replace the tail lights with the 2 screws loosely fastened so there is no danger of banging the lights against the finish. It's all a pretty quick and easy one-man job.
tvm. my question is do I have to remove the rear wheels to take off the bumper as I need access the torx screws in the upper wheel arch lining (which is above the height of the bumper) or do I just need to undo the Hex nut half way up the wheel arch and the Torx screw at the base ???
