All programs start with an existing baseline. In my case, the baseline program is an existing GT900 (not 800) high boost program designed for another high HP Tip (any guesses). From there, the program was modified by GIAC to increase the rev limiter from 6800 rpms to 7500 rpms (I am the guinea pig for increasing the rev limiter on a Tip), and the AFRs were extrapolated for the additional 700 rpms. This is the program Todd will start with. Todd will data log the performance of the car while using this program, including AFRs in particular, and send the data to GIAC for fine tuning. GIAC will make whatever revisions are necessary to the program, if any, then e-mail a new, revised program to Todd. Then Todd will data-log again and repeat the process until everything is running perfectly. In the end, I will have a program that is customized for my car, and has been tested to ensure that it works perfectly.

Thanks Cleve. EVOMS will be offering 3.5 inch intercolers in the very near future. Speed Gallery currently offers them. 3.5 inch intercoolers bolt right in as a direct replacement and, therefore, I strongly recommend them over the 4.5 inch intercoolers that I am using, which required extensive modifications.

The exhaust was custom fabricated by a local race exhaust shop (Fast Intentions). I can put you in touch with them if you are interested.

Since GIAC is in LA, why don't you just go over there for the day and put the car on their dyno to fine tune her???

A stunning collection of well matched components, Todd (EVOMS) has
outdone himself!! Congrats Craig, we will all be anxious to hear how it runs
and see you spank Sharky...not literally of course. It looks like Alex (not
Sharky) finally has a car in "the same league" as his. Prior to this that
really was not the case.

Absolutely a piece of mechanical art,
Marty K.

Tips do not dyno. Ask Sharky. Otherwise, Todd could do it on his dyno.

Craig
Dammit you guys keep bringing me up Yeah man it's not a good idea. trust me, I've been down that road before. Tried it multiple times and just gave the hell up. It's not easy for me to give up but some things just aren't meant to be. Tip on a dyno is one of them.

some reasons:
1)I blew my front differential
2)On a RWD mustang dyno my car would go up to 190 or so mph and then the ABS would phreak out and suddenly my rear rotors are on fire (yeah no joke).
3)On Garrett's dyno it would just up shift and you cannot run in my final gear because it's just too fast for that type of dyno. My car was doing 196mph and still had one more gear on the RWD one...

Anyways congrats again Craig/EVO sounds like it's a fricking monsta

Sharkey you love the attention....Attachment 34944..after all you did 'lay' the road for so many!

Well I guess its I-5 and track time with the A/F monitor to fine tune the car...

Craig...Is it GTG time or is it GTG time???

Very nice man!! But with all this talk of not being able to dyno tune the car... What about pulling the engine and using an engine dyno... You are spending a lot of money, whats the extra cost of putting it on an engine dyno going to do... Seems like a much better way to tune than road testing and datalogging a bunch of time (IE: Trial and Error)...
Just Curious...

Dyno Room mess= Attachment 34948

As you know you have to pull most of engine and ECU harnesses out of the the car just to start the engine on the engine dyno.....A BIG PAIN... I am confident that Todd at EVOMS knows exactly what he is doing in getting the right tune for Craig's monster...

It is a pain, but the "right"/"best" way to tune the car IMO... No guess work, no correction factors, no slipping, just pure facts! They are pulling a 997TT motor out in Germany and it will be going on the engine dyno next week to start programing I can't wait!

No question: we're all looking forward to the identification of the issues pioneers always face and how these are resolved. Thanks, Craig, for paying our tuition.
