Where can I get navigation CD's for a 2001?

I know there is a website that sells OEM CD-roms. Anybody here know it off hand? Also is it worth it? I know that the Navi is slower than DVD based systems which is not my concern. I am more wondering if they have updated their MAPS in the last year or two?

Nav-Tech is the only place I know you can get them. It has to be sent in by the dealer. Or at least that is how it use to be.

I'd like to know the same thing.

Personally I find the navigation in my '01 to be horrible. Lacks many, many streets that have been there 8+ years. Graphics and user interface are also poor.

Nav Tech is it. They own the rights to the software.

I pulled mine and bought a DVD based Nav. Much better.

str8blast,

Call Nav Tech. They sell the CDs for like $175 a piece, I bought one last year from them.

Was it the one you purchased very current?

Thanks guys!!!! I just ordered the CD's from Nav Tech. FWIW.. they said the maps have not been updated recently. (don't know how recent they mean) I'm just hoping it shows major highways and side streets. I'll write a quick review when I get them later this week.

Please do. I'd be very curious to see how old the maps are. You would think they'd have some type of date on them.

I bought a NavTech CD last year. It is current enough for SoCal......we're already so built out that it has most addresses in the data base. In fact I've not encountered one that it does not have yet. And if necessary you can enter the cross streets (at least for SoCal) and get directions that far.

My guess is that it takes a few years for these really to get to be outdated, at least in already built-out areas.

According to Navtech, the discs were last updated in 2001. If your address is newer than that, you will most likely not find it. I found the maps accurate enough for the most part, just not any good in very new developments.
