Tested: Corvette C6 Z06 vs Ferrari 430 vs Gallardo vs Porsche 997 TT

I am cut and pasting the compilation that was first posted on Rennteam, and then on Corvette Forums:

Summary of key statistics (order: Z06 / F430 / Gallardo / 997TT Manual with SC):

0-100 kph: 4.4s / 3.8s / 4.2s / 3.9s
0-200 kph: 13.0s / 12.2s / 13.4s / 12.5s
Top Speed: 320kph / 316 / 315 / 310
Handling: 1:39.4 / 1:38.1 / 1:38.2 / 1:38.1
Handlung: 63.5kph / 69.2 / 69.1 / 67.2
Stopping Distance: 35.1 / 33.4 / 33.4 / 33.2

Interesting read, some of the slowest times i've seen for the C6Z though.

I have to agree! Ehh i dont think this test was accuarate for any of those cars, ESPECIALLY the Z06! But nice to see the 997tt putting down some decent #'s!

Craig, thanks for posting.

FWIW, just yesterday under 110deg F, no burnout, and street tires, a Corvette Z06 did a 12.3 at 195kph with a driver that was his first time on a drag strip. If you extrapolate, it would be a 12.6 maybe 0-200KPH, with very high temps and newbie driver. Only an experienced driver with his 996GT2 stock beat him, by very little.
The numbers do seem a bit off in this test.

i would say real world with equal drivers would be 0-200 Z06, 997TT, F430, Gallardo. That test seems quite off like everybody else mentioned.

So apparently both the F430 and Gallardo were running Corsa R-compounds. That would explain a few things.
