H&R mess up

So hears the deal.. I got DONT MAKE FUN.. the lowering springs a while back from H&R to see if i liked the Turbo S cab lowered an inch ... But the fact is the springs i got lowered the car 1 and 3/4 of an inch all the way around. H&R have had me run all over checking the car out. I sent them Photos and showed them how low it was. Josh Scott and H&R said something is wrong with the springs yet they tested okay for compression. Has anyone else had this problem. Do you think H&R should pay for 1 of the three re-installs they had me do...

And who in So Cal is a dealer for Ohlins. THANKS YALL

were the springs made for a turbo Cab? There's a difference in weight and installing springs made for a coupe on a cab might not be ideal.

actually

the part number for a cab and a coupe is the same..H&R believe it or not use the same spring on both.

now u're going to spend more labor on some junk springs. i tried my best to warn people but most of the time my suggestion is not worth as much as little saving up front. sorry to hear that though.

the cab is heavier than the coupe therefore the springs can not be the same. Lou here had exactly problem as u do. just hate to see it happens again.

about the springs

H&R said the springs are the same for cab and coupe...the difference in weight is almost nothing... especially since i got a gut to lose... But even if it was because it was a cab it makes no sense why its 1.75 inchs low in the front as well... Only reason i did it though was to see if i liked it being low at one inch...

Just for thought though the 2 inch lowering idea is GREAT... i loved it that low... But who makes Rear control arms to adjust the camber that low... THANKS

Me_qwkr,
the weight difference is big. as far as my experience goes, H&R springs are known for sagging. not only for Porsche, other cars as well.

i suggest u replace them soon. the rear tires will give up first then ur shocks.

well Josh Scott at H&R says their springs are all perfect and sometimes sag a little but no an extra 3/4 of an inch... Secondly the weight on the Turbo S cab and Coupe are not massive... I think after reading up we are talking about 100lbs or so... still though it doesnt explain the front being so low... Also Alan at Speed Gallery was shocked when he found out that H&R uses the same spring on cab and coupe but after looking at the wieght difference said oh wells...

I did take off the springs a while back as H&R has them right now and dont know what to do...As Germany offers a taller spring but with a weaker compression ratio...So it might end up being the same... But if i wanted to relower the car to a 2 inch drop with the coilovers i am gonna get what company would you use for a Rear control arm to correct the camber...as all i was told about was JIC which if you dont know is a Japaness based company with products made in the states and CHINA... I WONT TOUCH CHINA made items thats why i wont by HRE rims since they started to make their rims in China

You have been misinformed and by whom, I have no idea. JIC brand has been made in Japan for over 15 years now and still is being manufactured in Japan. All of our products are made in Yokohama, Japan and shipped to us in a container from Japan. All production pieces, prototypes, and pre-production R&D is fabricated there.

There are many companies that claim that they have their products made in Japan but their prices do not reflect it. They have their items produced in China, Taiwan, etc. to save on production costs thus having lower prices.

We pride ourselves in having high quality craftsmanship, quality materials, and high tech engineering to give better products. Please make sure you information is correct before making such a statement. Thank you.

Wow, guess you don't like Brembo's then either? Stoptech? So many people outsource items and parts to be manufactured in China and you don't even know it...
