I do not know about retaining the OBC however I can share that the Z1 is very nice looking and once installed works flawlessly. Numerous very cool features and is very easy to use either pressing button/touch screen or voice commands.

FYI, it was an alternate vehicle that this system went into so this is a product comment not an installation comment.

Takes care

Send me a pm and i will gladly chat with about it.

BTW; yes it works very well; no issues at all. The nav is fast and acurate, the data base of POI is great, the audio portion is easy to navigate and operate with many features, the DVD works flawlessly, the recording of CD's and the creating of the library works great with no issues, the XM interface (non-traffic version was installed) and the I-Pod as well as the BT all work great.
