First 996TT in the 9's? Anyone know "Jorge Diaz"?
It's definately attainable although there are a lot of questions...
Car could be set up for RWD and have a good set of tires. The suspension should be good enough to get the car a mid to low 1.4x 60'. I've seen Sharkster 60' in the low 1.6x range and that was on ****ty tires and a ton of camber. Car could have had power problems up top resulting in poor mph..
or
This is the internet. It's pretty easy to make yourself look like a rich playboy with every car imaginable in your stable. Wasn't there some guy on lambo-power that pretended he had all kinds of exotics, was a moderator on the site, people would swing from his you know what, and later it was found that he was a 14 year old kid having some fun??
In other words who knows, it's the internet and I have a bridge for sale.

I believe that car can do those times if he gutted it out and took off about 3-400 pounds. I saw a 930 old school turbo in the low 10's 7 or 8 years ago at Englishtown!!
I think hes telling the truth and might have had a run at that time. You gotta remember something; If you drop the clutch just right with that car lightened up you will have a fast as hell run with a low trap speed..

Is this the track were the run would have been performed?

It looks to be a very low elevation with high presure. Today the Barometer is 30 +.

I am confident that a 996TT can run a 9 second 1/4 mile, and may already have done so. That being said, there is info on this particular Drag Time page that doesn't make sense to me.

I am informed that the car is an EVOMS GT700, and it was not designed/tuned to run 1.8+ bar. Nevertheless, given that other GT700s running MUCH less boost have run 10s, I guess it might be possible for a GT700 to break into the 9s with a wicked launch and 1.8+ bar of boost. However, I would not expect the engine/rods/head gasket/etc. to hold together very long at that boost level.

Do we know if its a 2wd conversion or AWD?
I am not a believer in the GT700 9 second concept.
I hope this guy can shed some light.
Craig, your car has the potential to be a 9 second car but it is
so far past a GT700 that it is not even comparable.
I am waiting with anxious ears/eyes on this one...
