hey bud.. we always do it with the engine out... but there's not a lot of room with the engine in there... If you do it that way, I'd say lower the engine a few inches, remove the stock intake plenum (if you still have it that is), drain the coolant (first that is) and I'll ask james some more. I'm worried about the lack of space/access though that way.

I just took a peek at mine and it is discolored a bit but it is low...I am new to this so can I just top it off? and with what coolant exactly? I inspected it rather close and it does not seem to be cracked or wearing right now but I will definately keep and eye on it...Shark, thanks for the heads up!

Sharky speaketh the truth. I wound up stranded at the side of the road in my 99 C2 in 2002 when the tank cracked, spewed all my coolant out, and sent to engine temperature soaring. Fixed under warranty, but what a hassle.

Only put in Porsche coolant or water. DO NOT put in any other coolant/anitfreeze.

I noticed this leaking after I did my clutch install. It was a very slow leak coming from the drivers side that I could not pinpoint where it was coming from. It stopped after we raised up the motor and buttoned it up. I have kept my eye on the coolant level but it hasnt gone down at all. Should I think about replacing it?

How about the water wetter products? (redline) Should this be used to top
off the tank? or only with a flush and new antifreeze?

Thank you! I will have to make the trip up to Porsche...heat hasn't gone over 180 - well only when I was in a very short stop and go traffic this past Sunday in 86 degree weather but when I got going it cooled off just fine.

Thanks for the info...

Mike
