Diary of a 996TT Engine Build @ Shark Werks
Some more close ups. Some setting, timing, adjusting (cams for example) and using big **** wrenches. Tag teaming and more Porsche tools. I knew we needed them for something. And the long block is back together once again.
I'll post the rest later on but suffice it to say this car is now fully-built top-to-bottom for the GT700 kit (I won't "bore" ya with pix of that- posted 'em too many times already lol) and new Stage III Clutch kit (yes with a LWF) and Motons. Obviously with break-in there's not a lot of "fun" to be had on this car just yet. Either way the bay area has another 10 second 996TT

Boost leaks are king. Just when you don't think you have one.. you do. I must have had just about every single possible boost leak you can have on a 996TT. You find it, deal with it (better couplers, thicker hose, more Zip ties on the ends etc..) and move on to the next one...

I agree though, taking it apart is better...

? Very much worth it if you plan on keeping the car for a long time and making big power
Wow
Alex, what was the setup/tuning package on that car? It looks like with only 600hp, that somebody failed to tune correctly. Do you guys think that was caused by detonation?
