Question on TechArt type II Front
"Did Scargo do it all in house? I would like to know if they could make another for me, while also supplying the sensors and some directions for installation."
Yes KPV, S Car Go Racing did the work in house. They made the gauge console and bought Dakota Digital gauges www.dakotadigital.com . The gauges require "breaking apart or separating," because of the depth of the units and the lack of space in the headliner. Part of the controls are located in a box under the passenger seat. I'm sure S Car Go could build one and ship it to you with instructions. E-mail Rob at robking@scargoracing.com or call at 415-485-6026.
Regarding the temperatures. It is my understanding Porsche suggests driving immediately because the stock afr's are rich and this could foul the kats. You can still follow Porsche's advise and simply not push the rpm's, ie. keep them under 2000 rpm's. Recommendations from oil manufactures is not to push your motor until the temperatures have attained a minimum temperature of 158 degrees F. The fallacy is, when I first attain a water temperature of 180 degree F, as Porsche recommends, the motor oil is usually only at 75-80 degrees F and the tranny and differencial oil temperature is usually lower.

I make most use of water temperature, head temperature, engine oil temperature. Followed by tranny temperture. The others are hard to monitor while driving, however the alarms are great.
Oh, outside of Dakota digital, not sure of the maker of my bar boost gauge, but the intercooler gauges are from Andial.

KPV,
When moving fast, my head temperatures are close, usually within five to eight degrees. The head temperature is higher. As the car slows or idles, the differences can vary by up to approximately twenty degrees F. Again, the head temperatures are hotter.
I don't believe the stock unit is screwed into the head as my water temperature gauge is very close to the stock gauge (mine reads in one degree increaments). The head temperature gauges always read hotter than the water temperature gauge, including the stock gauge.
