The art of the "Mini Kill"

I have perfected the art of the "Mini Kill", it will keep you out of jail and still have fun with the turbo every day. I am sure you all have your own version. The "Mini kill" are 20 t0 70 runs where you draw in a car by letting them leave you at a few stop lights. This is done by people who have held up againts boxers and such and do not know the difference between 911's. Their cars come in all shapes and sizes, from Infinitys to Sport SUV's with fat tail pipes. Once I have them thinking they can handle a Porsche I find an spot where a give them a rolling blast, to top it off, if they engage, I brake and let them catch up and tease them by pulling away again and again. What astonishes me is that you can trash many cars that have a full ahead of steam right when they are at your door, this technigue really bothers the hondas and such.

Great post!!

I do it every day. I like doing the same to people who have run with stock turbos and either beaten them or hung close, the reaction is priceless!

When I 1st saw this thread title, I thought you meant Mini Cooper kills, those are cool too , the kills that is

I even get these houswives in SUV' s and Lexus sedans, those cars have high torque to about 10 miles per hour, so they get all wet for about 20 yards.

Happened to me last weekend on Huntington Avenue in Boston. Some moron in an SUV in the next lane over, with his wife/girlfriend in the front passenger seat with her feet up on the dash, decided to try to get ahead of me in order to prevent me from changing into his lane ahead of him (there was a car in my lane ahead of me about 100 yards, and he wanted to make sure he got there first). When I realized what he was trying to do, I leaned on the throttle in 2nd gear and had 10 car lengths on him by the time we got to the car ahead, and I could see his wife yelling at him for attempting something so foolish.

Another cool thing to do, is to signal that you want to cut in front of them while your behind in another lane, and just hang back like you have all day with the signal on (they will always try to speed up), and then in an instant, gun it and put 20 lengths on them. I think the NA 911's and boxers must be getting beat up out there to instill such bravado.

this is my weapon of choice w/ the supra's open wastegate. it lets out right @ the front passenger wheel people stop ****ing around w/ me once they'd had an earful of open exhaust...

i've had the porsche back for 400 miles now (still breaking it in) and i forgot how ridiculous people drive around it. everyone races from the stoplight, everyone speeds up so i can't move over, everyone revs on me... i can't wait to unleash the 700hp.

I've had a few experiences where I'm driving in the left lane and someone comes up behind me with their wanna be fast honda or Acura at high speed. Instead of going around, they'll slow down behind me flashing their headlights and making hand gestures for me to move. So after about a minute of this, I'll ease into the right lane. As they're finally about to get past me, I gun it and wave as they try to keep up. Really pisses them off!! But then again, they could of just went around me to begin with?

Not to throw this off topic, but....

This is what drives me nuts in California. Why do people insist on staying in the left lane when somebody is obviously faster than them? In Europe and parts of the East Coast as soon as somebody in the left lane sees someone coming up behind them they automatically move over, as they should. The attitude, at least in California, is that the faster car should move over and pass on the right, and if they don't then the driver in the left lane gets pissed off.

My question to you is why you spend an entire minute in the left lane blocking faster traffic? Were you never taught that the left lane is for passing?

When I'm the one going faster than I should be in the left lane, I never have a problem going around slower traffic. I can't and don't expect people to move for me. If I'm going to drive a lot faster than everyone else, it's at my own risk. Doing this shouldn't have to involve other people changing their driving styles because of me (ie changing lanes). If you want to do 100mph on a public highway, go ahead, but leave me out of it.

This just goes to show different driving styles around the world. I am not sure where you are located but your attitude is pretty much how it is out here in California. I have given up trying to get people out of the left lane and I also pass on the right now. But, in Europe the fast car most certainly expects the person in the left lane to get out of the way, no matter what speed anybody is going. Same goes when I lived back east. As a driver back east whenever I saw somebody coming upon me I would get out of the way if I were in the left lane. In fact, on highways in the east there are signs posted everywhere for "Slower traffic keep right".

My exact sentiments. I think this happens all over the US. I was told by my mom when I was first learning to drive to stay the hell out of the left lane except for passing. It made perfect sense and still does. Although I dont think I have ever been passed in the turbo, I still stay in the right lane until its time to pass. I have really just given up now on waiting for all the "fast" cars to move out of the left lane and just blow by them without a warning on the right. I actually enjoy it now, imagining their thoughts as they see me fly by in the slow lane.

I'm with Mike W. on this one. I used to travel to Italy once a month on business, and it was amazing to see the difference proper highway etiquette makes. People don't sit in the left lane and putter along at the same speed as the guy right next to them. And, if you are driving in the left lane and a faster car is approaching from behind, you move over for them. Period. No drama....just move over. I just don't understand the mentality that says "the speedlimit is 65 so as long as I'm driving 65mph everyone else in the left lane better move over to pass me".

This type of driving gives Porsche owners a bad name. The left lane if for passing, it is called the FAST LANE. You have 1 to 4 other lanes on the highway to drive slow in. Leave the left one for cars that are travelling faster than the flow of traffic. Forcing cars to change lanes to pass you is dangerous especially if you never know if the guy in front saw you or not and is going to move over at the last minute. I'm sure many of you have had to pass someone on the right, only to have them move over on you because they saw you too late or couldn't judge your speed.....or, are just clueless.

I'll get off my soapbox now....sorry.
