PICS OF MY X50 w/GT3 (LOOK) RIMS...

Well everyone, I finally was able to take some pics of my 04’ X50 with the GT3 (look) wheels on it. Hope you like them.

I am still in the process of deciding which mods to implant. I have spoken to Arling & Tom at Lucent Motors (who are fantastic people and very knowledgeable – thank you to both of them) about which route to take. Tso is amazing with his genuine thoughtfulness and knowledge base! Tso, you have/are helping more than you think my friend…

I know the following options have been discussed numerous times before…

Option I
  • PSS9
  • Kreis-seig F1
  • Evo Stage 2 - 4
  • BBS racing wheel (aluminum)
Option II
  • RUF Rturbo 550

The price margin is obvious between option I & II but the thought behind even considering the RUF is reliability, drivability, resale & of course limited name brand (for al sake & purpose). Your thoughts are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Sami

Ps: I was only allowed to upload 5 files, if anyone would like to see more photos, please let me know...

After riding in a RTurbo 550 last week, I'ld have to go with Option 2.

Well what do you plan to do with the car?

Track day car? Daily driver?

The Ruf 550 is a VERY reliable package. Push it hard and it won't break. If it does, well it's a Ruf and you have the LEGENDARY Ruf customer service.

I personally would go with the Ruf 550. It's a package that has been thorougly tested and proven. When you get bored the 590 and 650 packages are all just a pond away.

Daily driver with the occasional track day (when i make the time to do so). Does anyone know if RUF will consider discounts for their 550 package?

She looks gorgeous by the way Samiz. Paint is looking spick and speck.

There are many Ruf 550 owners and ex-owners on 6speed. You should PM some of them to get their opinions. Some owners are.......

1) RufMD
2) Bruce
3) Guy (used to have 550, now has 590 on his GT2.)
4) supercup

I highly doubt it.

I believe the package still costs $30K.

Your car looks beautiful!!

As for which option to go with... I would go with Option 1. Although, I would choose a different exhaust because the Kreissieg system sucks when it comes to performance and you will actually loser power... So instead, I would go with a Fabspeed exhaust.

Just my .02 cents.

What does the Rturbo dyno?

Is there really a difference between Ruf and say GIAC?

I agree. But I'm more of a function over form guy. Depends on what you want from your car.

can someone elaborate why RUF's service is "legendary" ? Do they service them at Porsche dealers?

You're very welcome!

RUF is one of the best Porsche tuners in the world and I love all the work they do... Although their mods are very expensive, they are totally worth every penny because of the awesome build quality and reliability they have. Even though RUF is such a great tuner and manufacturer... I would still go with Option 1, due to the overall performance increase. If you choose Option 1, your car will be lighter, better handling, more powerful (that is if you got with EVO Stage 4), and a faster car... Where as if you go with the RUF Rturbo 550 package, you won't get as much power as Option 1 and you will end up paying more, while not getting a suspension upgrade and lighter wheels... IMO, Option 1 is superior and you will enjoy your car a lot more if you choose to go with it.

Before anything I would buy a set of H&R or Eibach springs and lower the car, then do the expensive parts.
