Thoughts on the Gemballa exhaust?

Hi everyone,

has anyone heard the sound quality of this exhaust or own one? Yes, I did a search but didnt find much. Is it similar to the Cargraphic versions?

thanks!

I have a Gemballa exhaust on my X50. I bought it used so I don't know which version it is, assuming there are more than one. It's louder than the stock X50 exhaust, which to me seemed louder than the non-X50 cars.

The sound is perfect. Raspy burble on start-up but then quiets down. Only loud if you really get on it. I live in a somewhat "stuffy" neighborhood so didn't want to go with the louder exhausts that some have. The Gemballa has absolutely no resonance.

I've also heard that they're similar to the Cargraphic ones and that Cargraphic actually makes them for Gemballa, but don't know if it's true.

That'd be right, neighbor. You're braver than I am, running pretty much straight pipes on yours at times. I think in the mornings I can sometimes hear it start up...

The K24's will sound louder than K16's. Does anyone know if there actually is a difference? I've read here about part numbers being different. My guess is this is the only difference.

Just put it on my '02 Turbo with Evo intake. Just like ExTex50 said, sounds somewhat benign until you hit it...then it become downright offensive (the ****-off factor is awesome)! It has a good "burble" to it when slowing down. I'd recommend it.

I think I might. I am picking up my new rims tomorrow. I should probably just keep my 18's on if I'm going to run with you guys. I'm thinking I'm probably going to be running low 10's tomorrow. Better watch out!

Had Gamb. exhaust on my 2001 996 - new owner still has it on the car (a friend) - lots of DEs and the quality is holding up very well - great sound too. It sounds better than my TechArt 996tt exhaust !!!
