I think in Arizona, we have some of the most brutal environments to be testing a car in.. with the heat, altitude.. etc.... i would assume you would be safe with any tuner that has cars that are proven in these extreme conditions... a lot of the major car companies have proving grounds in Arizona.... just my opinion...

We have different programs depending on the fuel available. Your 98 RON is like our 93/94 octane. We do have a program that will be based on that fuel. We do test all of these programs in the extreme heat conditions and the timing maps will vary depending on conditions. In your cold climate, the program is optimized for cold weather but will not over-advance the timing due to the opposite extreme conditions.

When we tune here in AZ in the extreme hot climate, we have to be careful that we are not testing on the lowest timing map in the ECU. If the temperatures are very hot, the ECU can retard timing to make the engine safe for the outside conditions. If you take that same car that was tested in the extreme hot conditions that was fine and transport that car to the extreme cold climate, the timing can advance and cause detonation and a lean condition.

We have monitored all of these changes and have corrected for them in the ECU calibration so that they are safe in all climates, conditions and fuel grade. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the late response, I have been crazy busy and did not realize you wanted me to jump in!
FVD programs are normally done for 98RON (which in US terms is 93 octane). We have different programs for different areas, however the ECUs also adapt a bit also (so the difference between 91octane and 93 octane is not really enough to requre different programing unless the person wants to really get every little bit of power out of it).

SMR: Give FVD DE a call (0049-7665-98990) and explain what you are looking to do. They will get you set up with a box that will fit your exact specifications! If you have any more questions feel free to post or message me and I will do my best to answer.
Regards,
Evan
