Took the GT2 to the dragstrip tonight
The temp tonight was between 100f and 93f while I was at the track. I got about 10 runs in. The car ran great, but it was still pretty hot outside. The track prep wasn't very good tonight. Here's a run I made against a Plymouth Barracuda drag car (I'm car number 470):

I got to run right after a Funny car ran, in the same lane. They stopped everything and prepped the track for 20 minutes before he went(he ran 7.4 @ 177 on a half track pass). Here's my run with a properly prepped track (against a ZX14 motorcycle):

I was running on BFG drag radials at about 17lbs. I basically dumped the clutch at 4200rpms and held on, the tires had a very small amount of wheelspin and hooked up like never before. It's amazing the difference that a launch can make. I guess it's true what they say about every 10th in the 60' costs you 2 10ths in ET. I am very interested to see what this car can do in decent conditions. I was the fastest car at the track other than a Mustang drag car with slicks and a HUGE turbo.

If u get a 1.6 60ft u will do 10.5 at least...
I also did 1.74 60 ft best and ran 11.5 on my 550 hp tt car 2 years back.
Its so hard to get 1.6 though... so clsoe and yet so far away..
best,
markski

That is way fast and GREAT to see a Porsche at the dragstrip!!!
That is a great time.........runnin' 10s is sick. I sometimes go to the drags with my 993RS.......2700lbs and 330HP and I can get some twelves and all the American muscle car guys come a runnin' asking "all this and that about is it a TURBO and does it cost $300,000"...........
THEY REALLY MUST BE SRACTHING THIER Heads when you ran 10s..........I would have liked to see it and hung around. Perhaps when Todd Z gets the grand opening of his shop and I fly out ther we can all go out there and hang out and watch you bewilder the crouds!
best regards

WAY TO GO JOE!! We both knew the car was fast and that the ET did not represent the true performance of the car. Sorry I could not be there. How did the "driftbox" work? Take care
